We used to run a baseball organization that had 6 teams, ages 7 to 13 years old. Throughout the 4+ years of experience we always had to face the dilemma of collecting monthly fees. We learned that parents want to put their kids in a good program with nice looking uniforms, a nice field or facility to practice at regularly, good coaches, and play high level tournaments while paying low monthly dues. Trying to accommodate parents’ wishes while paying competitive wages for coaches was not easy to manage to say the least.
We observed that kids with financially well-equipped families have more access to good training for their sports. Meanwhile, many families who are working so hard to enable their kids to play the sport they love, really struggle to come up with the funds to pay dues, fees, and for their equipment that their child needed. We met single parents, sick parents (and/or grandparents) who were taking care of kids and somehow managed to get close to the required monthly dues, so we ended up helping them ourselves. They were struggling yet supporting their kids to play baseball because they saw how much it meant to their kids and believed in the active sports lifestyle.
We believe that financial status should not stop kids from being challenged to develop their skills in their chosen sport. We sincerely would like to support all the kids to pursue their dreams and would like their family and coaches to be able to support them in that achievement.
“It takes a village to raise a child” and we hope that we can bring like-minded people together to help our kids to realize all the goals they set out to.
Aren’t you curious to see how our kids grow up with so much support from so many people?
